To be honest, i really miss reading posts about Theology or debates. I remember when I first joined Tumblr, i got to know some great people and their views. Like Andrew Dixon, Ramses, Malak, Hyesung and others. We all didn’t agree, but atleast there was a common friendship and Christ-like love that I saw. I really hope we could go back to that, (or it has and i’m just out of the loop because a number of “Christian” blogs unfollowed me because my blogs apparently wasn’t “Christian” enough for them or they out grew Tumblr).

I miss it because it actually made you second guess what you really believed, instead of following the famous pastors or oldest theologian’s teachings. I stopped posting and reblogging alot of quotes from theologians because people (self included) believed them without going to the Word first. You should wrestle with these topics before truly believing them.

Peace to you Brethren!

Here’s what happens with this doctrine, that shouldn’t.

All of a sudden, the guys that believe this, think they’re part of this tiny little club. Like God’s overarching will is just to save a couple of people & they’re that couple of people & the rest of us are all…….

But the message of Reformed Theology is that God saves! That God wants to save! Not that He wants to damn but that He wants to save. It’s backwards. They get it backwards. & so then you get arrogant, usually 20-somethings, who walk with a swagger and beat the crap out of everybody theologically. I just can’t stand them.

Or they’ve just got these incisive, constant, blogs where they just want to breakdown everybody’s everything & show everyone’s error. & so I’m not a big fan of the Reformed community. I’m just not. But I can’t get away from the fact that these are biblical (doctrines) and I believe this should produce a monumental amount of humility & patience with everyone.

Matt Chandler, on Election (Reformed Theology)

[After seeing and experiencing this firsthand, i totally agree. I love this Biblical Doctrine, but looking back in my spiritual walk with Christ, I became zealous for the wrong reasons and numb to the needs of others. This and other Biblical Doctrines should lead us back to God in worship, not as swords against others (especially our brothers and sisters in Christ)]

"Consequently, the key to mortifying fleshly lusts is to eliminate the emptiness within me and replace it with fullness; and I accomplish this by feasting on the gospel. Indeed, it is in the gospel that i experience a God who glorifies Himself by filling me with His fullness."

Finally!

So today, i got a text from my Discipler that his lesson plan was approved by the Discipleship Ministry Leader and gave homework (Already….. i know right? haha). You have no idea how psyched i am!? I’ve been praying for a brother in Christ to teach me Doctrine and Theology for some time now. God really is faithful :D I’ve been advised by a former Theology student at Moody Bible Institute that his Theology changed, grew and expanded in his table conversations with his dorm brothers and not just from books and sermons. I pray i don’t trade real life experiences and relationships with books. So i will be taught alongside my good brother in Christ, taking on a mini school like atmosphere with assignments, readings and papers. YEAH BUDDY!

If you would like, please pray for my Discipler, Russell, who is a fresh Seminary student at MBI who found it a waste to not use these things he has learned to build the young men of our Church; my classmate, Paul, other students who will join ,as well as me. Pray we take this seriously and delight in this awesome study of God.

Here’s the 1st assignment: Read these sections in the Theology Handbook:

If you have any resources you would like to share, it would be greatly appreciated! :D
